About me

Hello There! ☺

My name is John Geir Andersson. I’m a game designer from the ever building, rain drenched city of Gothenburg. Born in 1996 to a family of seven, and genuinely happy to be here.

I’m a systems-focused game designer who creates mechanics that guide, teach, and surprise players. I design intuitive and expressive gameplay loops that tell stories through play, where every system communicates purpose and emotion. For me, great design is proactive; it anticipates challenges, iterates early and often, and uses clarity and feedback to turn mechanics into meaningful player experiences.

My first encounter with games was my mom playing Zelda on the weekends while my dad read the guide to help her get unstuck.

Outside of development, I love going on hikes with my partner and painting Warhammer miniatures while listening to a good podcast or audiobooks. And my favourite season is unquestionably autumn.
